Leisure Restriction, Stress, and Quality of Life of Cadets in Korean Armed Forces Nursing Academy

Abstract

|
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to understand the leisure restriction, stress, and quality of life of cadets in Korea Armed Forces Nursing Academy (KAFNA) and to analyze its correlation.
Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive survey was conducted to 228 KAFNA cadets in August, 2018, using self-report questionnaires. Collected data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, and Pearson correlation coefficient.
Result: The average of leisure restriction was 2.78±0.48, stress was 2.67±0.55, and the quality of life was 3.72±0.44. Leisure restriction and the quality of life as well as stress and the quality of life showed negative correlations. In contrast, leisure restriction and stress showed a significantly positive correlation.
Conclusion: The results indicate that it is in need to develop various programs to alleviate leisure restriction of KAFNA cadets considering quality of life and stress.
